Creating content that roasts people, movies, performances, and other topics have become a rage for the last couple of years. Carry Minati rose to fame with his videos dissing cringe-worthy content since he was 16-years-old. Though he began posting videos at the age of 10, he rose to success with roast and parody videos. The work of this 21-year-old YouTuber is high in humor quotient though it isn’t devoid of profanity.
Carry Minati aka Ajey Nagar is a content creator, comedian, rapper and gamer. It is not just the choice of words that make his videos fun to watch but it is also his lively expressions and relevant voice modulation that add spark to the fun. Speaking in Hindi, his standard way of introduction ‘to kaise hai aap log?’ in all the videos has become a trademark identity for this talented artist.
Carry is famous for his series of videos roasting Gujjar boys, singer Dhinchak Pooja, singer Om Prakash, self-styled Godman Baba Ram Rahim Singh Insan, shows like Big Boss and Pakistani roadies, and apps like TikTok and Vigo among many others. He also runs a gaming channel Carryislive.
In 2018, he was also invited to interview Tom Cruise and Henry Cavill for their movie Mission: Impossible – Fallout in India. He won the Impactful Influencer of the year in 2019 at the MTV IWM Buzz Digital Awards. In 2019, he also featured in the list of ‘Next Generation Leaders’ worldwide by the TIME magazine.

Sumukhi Suresh is a firebrand performer. I was introduced to her skills through the Better Life Foundation web series created by Naveen Richard and Them Boxer Shorts. While she featured in a bunch of AIB videos, sketch comedies like ‘Go straight, take left’, I was mesmerized by dark humor she created in the Behti Naak series with Kumar Varun and Trupti Khamkhar. Through Behti, a ten-year-old with a deadpan expression, she spoke about issues like the perception towards marriages in India, domestic abuse, racism and many more She also created the memorable character of a house-help Parvathi Bai in the form of a series with Sanjay Manaktala. She has been a part of both the seasons of Comicstaan, playing the part of a host in the first season and that of a judge in the second season. She has also acted in the Kannada movie ‘Humble Politician Nograj’ with Danish Sait.
Three years back, I binge-watched Pushpavalli Season one and I was so blown away by her writing skills, thought-process behind creating the not-so-likable protagonist and her acting prowess that I had to write a review for the show. In the last couple of months, her first solo stand-up special ‘Don’t Tell Amma’has been launched on Amazon Prime and she recently returned with the second season of Pushpavalli co-starring Naveen Richard that manages to keep the audience at tenterhooks yet again. Sumukhi is one of the finest humorists we have in India whose range of characters, topics, and ideas re-define the word ‘versatile’.

You can read the previous posts in the series here. Dark Humour isn’t a genre explored by many Indian artists, so I am sharing one of Sumukhi’s brilliant sketches. It might make you smile but is bound to hit you hard.
Aashqeen, who runs a YouTube channel by the same name is known for his brand of comedy videos. While his visual content has a strong North Indian flavor, it is also worth mentioning that he steers clear of profanity or vulgarity in them. His videos revolve around youth-centric themes yet there are subtle messages of body positivity, the need for unity in diversity and also makes an effort to smash gender stereotypes. It isn’t easy creating humorous content around religion but this accomplished creator has managed to bridge the divide. This charming man with a heartwarming smile has immortalized the role of Bhaiyyaji in the Inteqam series, especially in his stunt of using the JCB machine in one of his videos.
While the majority of his videos are of the types of boys v/s girls in various scenarios, he has created quite a few memorable characters like Lul as well. Very recently, he explored the genre of web series with a show called Superstar. Aashqueen has collaborated with big names like Ashish Chanchlani, The Bong Guy aka Kiran Dutta among many others. Barkha Sethi and Dikshant Negi are two actors featured regularly in his videos who also head various departments of his channel.
His inspiring journey from facing failure to achieving success can be viewed as part of the TEDx talks.

Jaspreet Singh, featured as one of NDTV’s rising stars in comedy, can make anyone roll with laughter by his relatable humor punched with the right dose of wit and unique dialog delivery. The fact that his YouTube channel with only eight videos has more than 8.5 lakh subscribers acts as evidence of his huge popularity.
This Punjabi performer with a whacky sense of humor draws inspiration from the incidents around him. His jokes are centered around the daily happenings in Indian families making them realistic and relevant. His audience instantly feels connected to this desi brand of comedy.
This is the sixteenth post in the Blogchatter A2Z challenge under the theme ‘Laugh in the time of Corona.’ I will see you on Monday when I disclose the details of the YouTube creator featured in my post for Q.

I discovered Gaurav Kapoor through one of his epic YouTube videos on Royal Enfield bikes. This video made him quite famous though it also invited some hate comments (the sassy performer went ahead and made a second part on this issue). This witty comedian with a sharp sense of humor is found speaking on topics ranging from smartphones to destination weddings, Lifebuoy soaps, motorcycles and Bollywood in a hilarious tone. He prefers to call himself a storyteller and manages to find light-hearted fun content even in the most mundane things. He was selected to open for the show of international comedy sensation Russel Brand in India.
Kapoor is considered as one of the rising stand-up comedians in the country. His top-notch performance has already earned him a debut stand-up special show on Amazon Prime called ‘Hahakaar.’

Naveen Richard is one of the founder-members of the comedy collective ‘Them Boxer Shorts” attributed to the creation of the show ‘Better Life Foundation’. Along with Kenny Sebastian, Naveen has co-written and acted in the show Star Boyz. There are a bunch of videos on his YouTube channel that take a sarcastic dig at real-life issues of Godmen, moral policing, and stereotyping people. What is unique about those videos is that they manage to deliver the underlying message in a subtle and funny way without getting too preachy. He has also played the role of an annoying child in the sketch comedy ‘Go Stright, Take Left’ with Sumukhi Suresh.
Of all the characters that Naveen has created or acted in, my favorite happens to Uncle Francis or rather Fraaanjiis as he prefers to be known as. Navin’s intelligent humor makes him stand-out from the crowd. Yet, his actor persona overshadows the comedian within him in shows like the Pushapavalli series created by Sumukhi Suresh. This is where his versatility as an artist shines through. Naveen his debut on Amazon Prime with his stand-up special ‘Don’t make that face’ and is now back with a brand new show ‘Relatively Relatable.’
This is the fourteenth post in the Blogchatter A2Z challenge based on the theme ‘Laugh in the time of Corona.’ I hope to see you tomorrow when I divulge the details of the performer getting featured in my post for ‘O’.

Mostly Sane is the official YouTube channel of one of India’s leading YouTube sensations ‘Prajakta Koli.’ Her channel was my introduction to content-driven YouTube shows. This hard-working and super-talented RJ turned YouTuber is a force to reckon with. Her disciplined schedule of uploading videos every Tuesday (real talks), Thursday (sketch comedies based on her observation of people around her) and Saturday (QnA or video interviews with celebrities) makes her one of the most consistent creators as well. She is often found uploading vlogs based on her travel diaries and personal experiences.
She has represented India at the YouTubers ‘Creators for Change’ summit through which she met Michelle Obama recently to discuss on education for girls. Recently, she made her foray into YouTube originals with her show ‘Pretty Fit’ that featured a host of celebrities like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sanya Malhotra and Sumukhi Suresh among others. Prajakta was part of Forbes ’30 under 30′ list in 2019.
While Prajakta has created various characters for her sketch comedies, her most famous creation happens to be a teenager called Montu, introduced as the younger brother of Prajakta in the comedy videos. Montu is so popular that the audience (who Prajakta addresses as Dumdums lovingly) has started asking for Montu special videos now. She has collaborated with the biggest names in Youtube community like Bhuvan Bam, Ashish Chanchchlani, Mumbiker Nikhil and many more.
