The personal angle –
The Park opened its doors to visitors in 1991. During the summer vacation at my maternal grandparents house in Kolkata in 1993, I had visited the park for the first time.I came back mesmerized and awestruck. Despite multiple visits to Nicco Park and various other amusements parks over the country, the place never failed to bring out the happy child in me.
Last year December when we took my two plus year old toddler for the first time to this park, his happiness knew no bounds. While he couldn’t enjoy all the rides, he had taken an instant liking towards the crazy tea party ride and the toy train. However what stole the show was this unbelievable connection with the dinosaurus model that he kept having a conversation with.

Enjoy the ride until we meet tomorrow for more outings.
That is a really cute picture of your little fellow chatting with Mr.Dino! But, one thing I would like to ask you, Sonia…Did you ride the Giant Cyclone? 😀 😀
Every post of yours is loaded with information…as I must have said earlier, too. So, if and when someone decides to go visit Bengal, all they need to do is look up your 26 blog posts, and they will get every kind of info they will need!

Wonderful post Sonia! Nicco Park had been a hot favourite of mine and my son’s till about a few years ago when we were in Kolkata and he was young enough to enjoy these innocent rides ! Your post and photos brought back a cascade of nostalgia. Our favourites were the cable car, the dinosaur river cave ride and of course the toy train ! Good choice for N !

I have a fear of heights, so I’ll pass on all those scary rides. But Nicco park does seem like a fun place to spend a Sunday with the family.

Sounds really exciting. I like Sheroo a lot. Looks really cute. Reminded me of the time long time back 1n 1982 when the Asiad was conducted in India. Tha mascot for the Asiad was a cute baby elephant called Appu. The rides seem to be varied and many. Good article.
