T for CarryMina(T)i

Creating content that roasts people, movies, performances, and other topics have become a rage for the last couple of years. Carry Minati rose to fame with his videos dissing cringe-worthy content since he was 16-years-old. Though he began posting videos at the age of 10, he rose to success with roast and parody videos. The work of this 21-year-old YouTuber is high in humor quotient though it isn’t devoid of profanity.

Carry Minati aka Ajey Nagar is a content creator, comedian, rapper and gamer. It is not just the choice of words that make his videos fun to watch but it is also his lively expressions and relevant voice modulation that add spark to the fun. Speaking in Hindi, his standard way of introduction ‘to kaise hai aap log?’ in all the videos has become a trademark identity for this talented artist.

Carry is famous for his series of videos roasting Gujjar boys, singer Dhinchak Pooja, singer Om Prakash, self-styled Godman Baba Ram Rahim Singh Insan, shows like Big Boss and Pakistani roadies, and apps like TikTok and Vigo among many others. He also runs a gaming channel Carryislive.

In 2018, he was also invited to interview Tom Cruise and Henry Cavill for their movie Mission: Impossible – Fallout in India. He won the Impactful Influencer of the year in 2019 at the MTV IWM Buzz Digital Awards. In 2019, he also featured in the list of ‘Next Generation Leaders’ worldwide by the TIME magazine.

This is the twentieth post in the Blogchatter A2Z challenge based on the theme ‘Laugh in the time of Corona.’ I will see you tomorrow when I disclose the featured funny man in my post for U.

You can read the previous posts in the series here. Don’t forget to click on his video where Carry roasts a TikTok sensation Rocky.

Who am I? An erstwhile banker turned blogger/writer/author. Any qualifications? A Post-Graduate degree in Chemistry followed by a second Post-Graduate Diploma in Management. Currently, I am pursuing a one-year MFA in creative writing course from the Writer's Village University, U.S. Though I must admit that I am still trying to figure out how and when I can connect all these dots. Have I done any real work? If two years in market research, six years in banking as a branch head two-and-a-half years in blogging and publishing a book can be considered as real work, then yes. Where do I live? After spending life like a nomad for sixteen years in Delhi, Bangalore & Mysore, I am back to where it all started from - Kolkata. My favorite things - Books, coffee, travel, food, and my four-and-a-half-year-old son. What is this blog about? Through Sonia's musings, I intend to explore writing in various genres, create social awareness, spread laughter and channelize emotions through words and pictures. Anything for readers? You can check out my book 'Deal of Death' on Amazon Kindle. If you like fast-paced thrillers, this Detective fiction introducing the woman sleuth, Raya Ray could turn out to be your perfect weekend read.

  4. I like how he used the games as a foreground while talking about a completely different thing. Being totally awkward looking at myself on selfie cam, I thought this was a really smart trick. I don’t like his content much, but I am totally impressed by how he managed to achieve so much so young.

  5. Just the “Kaise hai app log” has given me a smile. Ajey has a very unique space in this field. He is funny and has a great attitude. Thank you for this Sonia. Though I’m missing a few days, I love your posts.
