Located on Syed Amir Ali Avenue in Park Circus area of Kolkata, Quest Mall is a new addition to the city that already boasts of Forum Mall, Acropolis Mall, South City Mall, Mani Square and the two City Centre Malls. Yet what stands out in this luxury retail hub is the huge number of international brands that have launched their stores here. Its impressive facade is a mesmerizing interplay of solar-powered lighting against a modern and energetic asymmetrical structure – inspired by India’s varied culture and natural beauty. With a shopping area of 730,000 sq ft and parking for 1,300 vehicle, it is one of the largest malls in the city.

The sleek entrance to the mall has a fountain that changes color as per the lighting offering a gorgeous view to the visitors. The ground floor is home to most of the reputed international brands like Burberry, Jimmy Choo and Gucci. The rest of the floors have an equal range of impressive outlets of  the likes of The Body Shop, Allen Solly, Fab India among others. Starmarks is a book lovers delight.

A Spencers outlet and a children’s play zone Kool Kidz are located in the basement. Inox Insignia is the desired place for movies.

The fourth floor has a food court with outlets of KFC, Pizza Hut among others. Chili’s Grill and Bar restaurant serving American – Continental cuisine is also located on the same floor.

The fifth floor has an array of fine dining restaurants that makes it a preferred hub for food lovers. From Bombay Brasserie serving Indian cuisine to the pub Irish House, the continental cuisine eatery Serafina and the only Michelin star restaurant in the city – Yauatcha, this floor is nothing short of delightful experience for gastronomic adventures. Also, the gorgeous view of Kolkata sky from Yauatcha and Chili’s is a sight to behold.

One of the most unusual aspects of this mall is that it is never too crowded making it one of the preferred options to visit with a toddler.

After moving back to Kolkata, this was one of the first malls that I had visited with our then less than-a-year old son. Having had first hand experiences of over crowded malls in Bangalore for a decade, it was a pleasant surprise to discover Quest Mall. Most of the restaurants have been explored by us multiple times over the last one year and each of these trips have always culminated in an amazing experience.

Who am I? An erstwhile banker turned blogger/writer/author. Any qualifications? A Post-Graduate degree in Chemistry followed by a second Post-Graduate Diploma in Management. I completed a one-year MFA in creative writing course from the Writer's Village University, U.S. in Dec 2020. Though I must admit that I am still trying to figure out how and when I can connect all these dots. Have I done any real work? If two years in market research, six years in banking as a branch head, three-plus years of blogging, writing, and publishing a book can be considered as real work, then yes! Where do I live? After spending life like a nomad for sixteen years in Delhi, Bangalore & Mysore, I am back to where it all started from - Kolkata. My favorite things - Books, coffee, travel, food, and my five-year-old son. What is this blog about? Through Sonia's musings, I intend to explore writing in various genres, create social awareness, spread laughter, and give words to emotions. Anything for readers? You can check out my book 'Deal of Death' on Amazon Kindle. If you like fast-paced thrillers, this Detective fiction introducing the woman sleuth, Raya Ray could turn out to be your perfect weekend read.

  1. It is a very nice place. Recently I visited this place with Mousumi for watching the movie ‘Black Panther’. The mall is well decorated and well furnished with varieties. Generally, I do not have too much likeliness for malls, however liked this one 🙂

  2. In Kochi, the Lulu mall is very well known and a place I visit with my family very often. The Quast mall sounds really promising but is there no multiplex in the mall?

  4. We have such a mall in our township that is really big — it gets tiring just walking from one end to the other. The stores are all brands from overseas as well as Indian, but mostly designer stuff. Just visiting such malls can be overwhelming! 🙂
