On a December weekend last year, when we dropped in to the Pizza Hut outlet near Nicco Park, Salt Lake for evening snacks, we were already exhausted and famished from a fun-filled yet tiring day at the Nicco Park. The place had a welcoming look about it and was only partially full when we entered. It was quite evident that this place mainly catered to the crowd from the adjacent Nicco Park but was primarily set up as a delivery joint for the surrounding areas.

Ambiance –
The outlet is a little less spacious as compared to most of Pizza Huts other joints. They have the standardized boards and coloring with the same seating arrangements elsewhere. However the interiors are done very tastefully. They have used a lot of glass framed posters and metallic frames that have given an urban look to the outlet. The place is well-lit up. Overall the place has a warm and welcoming ambiance. There was a kids party that got over when we entered. The place is kid friendly.

Food –
Since this outlet functions more for the purpose of delivery, the items on the menu card have been designed to include only the main offerings of pizza, pasta, garlic bread and few more dishes. In fact the menu card comprises of just two pages. We to try out the option of ‘make a meal for one’ for a non vegetarian pizza dish that included two slices of garlic bread, one chicken supreme pan pizza and one soft drink. The garlic bread was toasted perfectly. The pizza tasted great with toppings of chicken tikka, chicken hot and chilly and chicken meatballs. We ordered choco truffle cake as dessert. It was soft chocolate pastry that with the topping of chocolate sauce and choco chips. The dishes were sufficient enough option for snacks for two people.

Service –
This outlet works partially as a self-service counter. The norm is to choose from the menu, order the items at the counter and pay for it there instantly. Once the food is ready, one of the staffs deliver it to the relevant table. That leads to reduction of overall time taken making the service prompt. However, I had a slightly different experience. The staff in charge at the counter wasn’t well aware of the billing mechanism for the meal plan. It took him some time to figure out the technicalities. However, once the minor issue was sorted out and bill settled, it took no time for the food to arrive at the table. The staff who delivered the food was extremely courteous. He helped me understand the process of online ordering from this outlet through Zomato since the joint was not reflecting as an available option for delivery in my area. Overall the staffs are polite and helpful.

Pricing –
Pricing for Pizza Hut outlets are standardized. Considering the quality and quantity of items, pricing is justified and well within limits.

Rating –
My rating across various parameters would be –
Ambiance – 4.5
Food – 3.5
Service – 4
Pricing – 4
Overall – 4

This is definitely one of the decent options in the area surrounding Nicco Park and I feel this outlet has the potential to do much better with introduction of wider variety of items on the menu card.
