Restaurant review – Momore,Kolkata

Last Saturday,I had been craving for momos. So we went to the nearby Axis mall to savor out the momos at Momore counter. While I have been to this place couple of times before, there was essentially no aspect that stood out during each visit. The counter is situated between Axis mall and Lifestyle store.  The counter is quite visible due to location advantage and its bright yellow color. It is more like a take away counter with no available seating arrangements.

Ambiance – Since the counter doesn’t have any seating arrangement to offer, one has to either stand outside or sit on the stairs of Axis mall to munch on the dishes there.

Food – During each visit, we have invariably tried their chicken steamed momos. The momos are soft, well cooked and tasty. The red spicy sauce served along with the momos is a great add on to the taste. It is also recommended to try their thupkas. However, as of now they have limited items available, most of which mainly serve the purpose of snacks.

Service – Service is prompt. Right from ordering the dish to paying for it to getting the food served or packed for take away, the process is quite smooth, fast and efficient.

Packaging – The momos are packed neatly in aluminium foil packs and put in plastic covers. The sauces are given in transparent plastic covers.Packaging is spill free.

Price – Pricing is kept moderate and affordable. In my opinion, the target population for this eatery is majorly youth. Hence they have tried to keep the price range in a way that suits ones budget for having a quick snack without burning a hole in the pocket.

Overall, my rating across parameters would be –

Ambiance – Not applicable

Food – 3.5

Service – 4

Packaging – 4

Price – 4.5

Overall – 4

This is a good outlet to visit if one is craving for momos. However, in the long run the outlet might have to look at increasing the range of items on the menu so that the scope for a full meal is also catered to. Also arranging basic seating arrangement like chairs can help them draw more customers. This is more a place to hang out with friends than family.

Visited – November , 2017 as couples
