Glimpses of the Kolkata Crime Writers Festival on 29th March 2025

Kolkata hosted the first Crime Writers Festival today at Storyteller Bookstore. And it turned out to be an evening to remember with some enthralling sessions and a vibrant audience.

It was a pleasure talking about writing crime thrillers.

Thank you, Srishti Publishers & Distributors, Vishwakarma Publications, The Book Bakers for always extending your support and encouraging me

It was lovely meeting a few readers and signing copies of my books for them.

This event gave me an opportunity to interact with the noted director of Bengali movies, Mr. Arindam Sil and I could handover my books personally to him after he expressed an interest in reading them.

Hoping to see more such initiatives in my city.

8/2/25 – Day 3 of book signings at Kolkata Book Fair

The fair was buzzing with people today. I went to sign copies of ‘Diary, Deceit Death’ in the Storyteller Stall and ‘The Sanyasi who became a King’ in the Sristhi Publishers Stall. A few friends had messaged that they would go tomorrow to pick up copies of my books, so I thought of keeping some signed for them. Besides it was the perfect time to meet Shouvik of Srishti Publishers & Distributors. Thank you Arup for the constant encouragement.

Signing copies at Storyteller Bookstore stall for the second time was a pleasure. Thank you Mayura for the support. A big thanks to Vishal Soni of Vishwakarma Publications and Uttam Patil for arranging this.

But it was a pleasant surprise when Basubhadra dropped in with her family to buy an author signed copy of ‘The Sanyasi who became a King’ for gifting. I know it’s her second copy of this book, so a tight hug to you, Rhea. After 33 years, Anupriya Banerjee Misra chose the book fair as the perfect venue for a reunion. Thank you for picking up both my books.

Suhail and team The Book Bakers , this wouldn’t have been possible without you. Thank you!

To those visiting the fair tomorrow, you can grab signed copies of my books at E-86 (The Sanyasi who became a King) and E-39 (Diary, Deceit and Death). Also, it’s the last day of the fair.

Happy Saraswati Puja- 2025

The mandatory Saraswati Pujo rituals every year where the kid assists his Dadan in its preparation and during the puja. Since all the books are in front of the Goddess, it gives him the perfect excuse to spend the day with his cricket bat and ball. God save the house now.

Like every year, the kid’s books, books on writing (mine), medicine (husband’s) and Mathematics (Baba’s) occupy the major space in front and beside the Goddess. But this year, two new books have been added to this pile – books written by me. It gives me immense joy to see ‘Diary, Deceit and Death’ and ‘The Sanyasi who became a King’ here. May this be the beginning of many more books to come.

Happy Saraswati Pujo and Vasant Panchami to those who celebrate.

My first Book Fair as an author

This is how my first book fair as an author went.

On 29/1/25, I spent an hour at the Srishti Publishers & Distributors stall E-86 and I was delighted to meet its CEO,  Arup, after more than a year. My childhood friends made the event more special with their presence.  It was a pleasure catching up with fellow authors Prasun, Sourabh Mukherjee Da and meeting Udayaditya Da for the first time. We were more than happy to sign books for each other though I must mention that the first signed copy was bought by my son.

My next destination was The Storyteller stall E-39. Anwesh, who I had met during the previous event at The Storyteller bookstore had come to get an author-signed copy of ‘The Sanyasi who became a King’. Signed some copies of this book and ‘Diary, Deceit and Death’. Mayura, the owner of The Storyteller, made the experience so warm and welcoming. Thank you Vishal Sir and Uttam Dada of Vishwakarma Publications for arranging this.

Thank you Sristhi Publishers and Vishwakarma Publications for the opportunity. Thank you The Book Bakersl for turning my dreams into reality.

Both my books are available at the Kolkata Book Fair until 9th Feb. ‘You can get The Sanyasi who became a King’ in E-86 (Sristhi Stall) and ‘Diary, Deceit and Death’ in E-39 (The Storyteller Stall)

Happy New Year 2025

Thank you 2024 for reinstating my belief in persistence and hardwork. The year began at the bookstore Story and ended with copies of my new book getting shipped to the major bookstores in Kolkata. The year started with a bunch of people and it ended with those who I call friends like family. The first trip of the year was just the three of us while the last trip of the year was with my closest family. Here’s to 2024 for being kind, joyful, productive and enjoyable.
2025, I hope you turn out to be even better.
