A family outing to Aquatica Water Park

Summer holidays are soon about to get over for the kid. So, we decided to take him for a day’s outing to one of our unexplored places of entertainment, the Aquatica Water Park in Kolkata. The place also has a resort for accommodation.

And we enter the water area

The son and his father are water babies; it was a delight to see them jump into the water at every possible opportunity. After getting the tickets (1000 for adults and 500 for kids on weekdays), we rented a locker to keep the spare clothes and valuables. It cost us Rs. 50 and a refundable deposit of Rs. 200. Costumes are also available for rent.

Waves begin

We went into the waves zone first, where the water level kept increasing, giving us a feeling of being in the sea. The kid thoroughly enjoyed it and wouldn’t let us get out of the waves area.

The area for water rides

Next, we went to the water rides for children and adults alike. While I explored a couple of rides, the father-son duo had a lot of fun trying out the short and long rides. We skipped the more dangerous rides and headed to Niagra Falls.

The Baba-baby duo after the ride

I was impressed by Niagra Falls, which went around for half an hour. We sat under the falls to beat the extreme heat. We also tried out the rain dance.

After Niagra Falls stopped, it was time for a repeat visit to waves, followed by multiple water rides and a walk across the lazy river.

Lazy river

We headed to the food counter around 3 with a son reluctant to still get out of the water. We ordered a biriyani and fried rice-chili chicken combo. Gulping the food down, the kid was back at Niagra Falls, only to return to waves next.

Before we leave

After spending around four and a half hours in the water park, we finally decided to change into dry clothes and head home. Along with the kid, we had a wonderful time; it was the best way to keep ourselves cool on a hot day. We plan to return to the park soon.
