Restaurant review – WOW! Momo

The sudden dip in temperature over the weekend took a toll on my health this friday. Since going out didn’t seem like a feasible option and I wanted to eat something spicy and tasty, momo is what came to my mind. Zomato provided me with a host of momo outlet options. Some had already been tried out and few didn’t have a home delivery option through Zomato or Swiggy. That’s how we decided on the delivery from Wow! Momo, Salt Lake, Sector 5 outlet through Swiggy. Few years back I had tried out their chicken steamed momos at their Axis Mall outlet and remembered liking the taste of it. This time we decided to explore few other dishes.

Ambiance – Since I have not visited the restaurant personally, I am not in a position to comment on this aspect.

Food – We ordered Chicken Schezwan Steamed Momos and Chicken Fried Momos. Red chili sauce and green chili ketchup came along with the dishes. Each item had six pieces  of momos. The schezwan momos were very spicy. Tasted quite average. I would say that the chicken steamed momos make a better choice in terms of taste. I generally don’t prefer my momos fried but the chicken fried momos were delicious. Overall, the ordered items turned out to be decent options as evening snacks. There was nothing that was extraordinary about the look or taste about the momos, nothing that could differentiate them from their competitors but they maintained their standard taste, quality and hygiene.

Packaging – The momos were neatly stacked in aluminium foil packs and the sauces were delivered in small transparent packets. Forks and tissue papers were also sent and the whole bunch was delivered in the outlets’ branded plastic pack Packaging was spill proof.

Service – The outlet has a tie up with Swiggy for delivery and the entire process of online ordering and getting the food delivered happened in flat twenty three minutes even though the estimated duration was stipulated within thirty eight minutes. This gives an idea about the promptness of service at the outlet.

Price – Pricing is slightly on the higher side. The schzewan momos were of rupees one hundred and twenty per plate while chicken fried momos came at one hundred and five rupees. The bill including GST and delivery charge for Swiggy added up to rupees two hundred and forty nine making it a little above affordable pricing.

My rating across various parameters would be –

Ambience – NA

Food – 3.5

Packaging – 4

Service – 4

Price – 3.5

Overall – 3.8

The WOW!Momo outlet at Sector 5, Salt Lake majorly caters to delivery in Salt Lake and New Town area. The eatery is decent in terms of quality of the offerings and quantity of the items per plate. Eventually they might need to introduce more variety in the menu range for delivery to break the monotony. In a nutshell, this is definitely one of the better options to be considered if one is craving for momos but is too lazy to go out.
