Q for Aash(Q)een

Aashqeen, who runs a YouTube channel by the same name is known for his brand of comedy videos. While his visual content has a strong North Indian flavor, it is also worth mentioning that he steers clear of profanity or vulgarity in them.  His videos revolve around youth-centric themes yet there are subtle messages of body positivity, the need for unity in diversity and also makes an effort to smash gender stereotypes. It isn’t easy creating humorous content around religion but this accomplished creator has managed to bridge the divide.  This charming man with a heartwarming smile has immortalized the role of Bhaiyyaji in the Inteqam series, especially in his stunt of using the JCB machine in one of his videos.

While the majority of his videos are of the types of boys v/s girls in various scenarios, he has created quite a few memorable characters like Lul as well. Very recently, he explored the genre of web series with a show called Superstar.  Aashqueen has collaborated with big names like Ashish Chanchlani, The Bong Guy aka Kiran Dutta among many others. Barkha Sethi and Dikshant Negi are two actors featured regularly in his videos who also head various departments of his channel.

His inspiring journey from facing failure to achieving success can be viewed as part of the TEDx talks.

This is the seventeenth post in the Blogchatter A2Z challenge based on the theme ‘Laugh in the time of Corona’. Stay tuned to know the details of the content creator(s) getting featured in my post for R tomorrow.

You can read all the posts in this series here. Hope this video brings a smile on your face.

Who am I? An erstwhile banker turned blogger/writer/author. Any qualifications? A Post-Graduate degree in Chemistry followed by a second Post-Graduate Diploma in Management. I completed a one-year MFA in creative writing course from the Writer's Village University, U.S. in Dec 2020. Though I must admit that I am still trying to figure out how and when I can connect all these dots. Have I done any real work? If two years in market research, six years in banking as a branch head, three-plus years of blogging, writing, and publishing a book can be considered as real work, then yes! Where do I live? After spending life like a nomad for sixteen years in Delhi, Bangalore & Mysore, I am back to where it all started from - Kolkata. My favorite things - Books, coffee, travel, food, and my five-year-old son. What is this blog about? Through Sonia's musings, I intend to explore writing in various genres, create social awareness, spread laughter, and give words to emotions. Anything for readers? You can check out my book 'Deal of Death' on Amazon Kindle. If you like fast-paced thrillers, this Detective fiction introducing the woman sleuth, Raya Ray could turn out to be your perfect weekend read.

  4. Wow, am interested to watch his TEDx talk. The name Ashqeen reminds Ash King, no? Loved the post Sonia. Specially, I am intrigued to see he is also in a journey from failure to dreams.

  5. I had never been a fan of comedy except for Kapil Sharma show, which I have watched for quite a long time but your videos and posts are actually motivating me to explore this field too. Will surely catch up with some of them. This was again a hit!!
