It’s a great feeling to get back into this recap mode sharing throwback memories from 2018. After January, February and March, April and May, we move on to the middle of the year as I cherish memories from June and shudder at the thought of July this year.
June marked my entry into fiction writing as I participated in the Write Tribe Festival of Words for the first time. I discovered my love for writing short stories and flash fiction and my blogging journey took off in a new direction.
However, June has always been a special month for me for a very personal reason. On 20th June 2011, my husband and I, then friends for twelve plus years decided to get into a forever and always kind of partnership by getting married. As we successfully survived the seven years itch this year and vowed to continue getting on each other’s nerves for years to come, deep within I feel grateful to have this man in my life. He’s been my Rock of Gibraltar in the toughest of times, my partner in crime in the craziest of adventures and my 3am friend in my solopreneurial journey.
How I wish I could wipe out July 2018 from our lives forever! We lost one of my cousin sisters-in-law a week after she delivered a premature baby girl. While as a family we are still trying to recover from the trauma, my heart goes out to her parents who have lost their only child and the newborn who has been forever deprived of the warmth and care of her mother’s love. Incidents like these go on to prove how unpredictable and fickle life is in reality. The time that we have with our loved ones is limited, so it is essential not to waste it on trivial things and instead focus on creating beautiful memories.
While I sign-off with this thought today, I promise to return with a cheerful version of August and heart-warming memories of September in my next post that will go live on 24th Dec.
